COOP Ale Works 3rd Anniversary Party

January 12th, 2012

So now that the holiday season is over, it’s time to celebrate the only real winter holiday….COOP’s 3rd Anniversary Party.  This year we have the wonderful opportunity to partner with Wishing Well, a local non-profit.  Unlike last year, tickets will not be required for entry.  This year we will have a suggested donation of $5 to Wishing Well at the door.  The party will be this Saturday, January 14th and the session times are as follows:

11am-2pm

3pm-6pm

7pm-10pm

We’ll have several surprises in store for each session, so be sure to keep your eyes open for hourly special releases.  We’ll have snacks by The Wedge and DJ J2O will be spinning tunes all day and night.  Also, remember that we can’t fit the entire city in our building, so we will be admitting people on a “first come, first serve” basis.  Once we reach capacity, we will let people in on a “one in, one out” basis.

We apologize for the late notice, but we’ve been working with the ABLE Commission to make this event hiccup-free.  We hope to see all of your lovely faces on Saturday.

Cheers,

Team COOP

Beer and Cheese Pairing at Epicurean’s Pantry

January 4th, 2012

Unfortunately, here at COOP Ale Works we’re not supportive of New Year’s Resolutions that limit one’s beer and cheese intake.  So if you are one of the sane individuals who chose to not make this part or your resolution we hope that you will check out our Beer and Cheese tasting at Epicurean’s Cafe in Edmond.

Cheers,

Team COOP

Canfest

November 9th, 2011

We get to participate in beer festivals on a regular basis and each is unique in its own way.  However, this year we are especially proud to announce that we will be participating in the third annual CanFest in Reno, Nevada.  You may at this point be asking yourself what in the (insert colorful adjectival noun) is CanFest?  Well, CanFest is the culmination and celebration of everything that is right in the world – beer in cans!  Not just any beer in cans, beer from 30 of the best breweries in the country, including your very own COOP Ale Works.  The festival will include awards for the quality of the beer and for the quality of the can design.  So, if you know anybody that lives in, or is going to be in, the Reno area November 11-12, tell them to come see us and nearly 30 other great breweries at CanFest!

Click here for more information and CanFest ticketing.

Manifesto

October 12th, 2011

Beer is no longer just a Man’s drink (as many of my lady COOP followers would quickly point out), but occasionally it is ok to celebrate all things manly.  Thus the wonderful people over at The Exchange have put together The Manifesto, which will feature many manly features, like a living mustache museum, live wrestling, a street hockey tournament and BEER IN CANS.  So grow that mustache out, put on your sweetest t-shirt and jeans and come on out and see us at the Manifesto.  It’s going to be Mantastic!

We Love Wind…..

April 27th, 2011

Though most of you, in the last few weeks, have been saying naughty words with regards to the wind, we here at COOP love wind.  Mostly because we were one of the very first local businesses to enroll in the OG&E Wind Power Program.  This is something that we are very proud of, as you may have seen on one of our cans.

All of this is why we are proud to take part in a case study that OG&E is putting on in an effort to promote their Wind Power Program.  If you go to the OG&E website you can watch a video that was shot right here in the brewery and features COOP co-founder JD Merryweather.  Also, if you pick up a copy of the Oklahoma Gazette you will find a full page advertisement featuring our involvement in the OG&E Wind Power Program.

Our involvment in this program is just one of the many ways we practice sustainable business.  As we grow, we want you, our valued customer, to know that sustainable business practices will always be front and center at COOP Ale Works.

Cheers,

Team COOP

Awesome Story From the COOP World!

April 15th, 2011

So Yesterday a woman calls the brewery and leaves a message asking where she can find our beer. This happens often enough so I call her back and she answers the phone “such and such wine and spirits”.  Ok so it’s a liquor store, this also happens often enough. I tell her who I am and she tells me that someone came into her store, set down a can of Native Amber and asked her where he can get it.  So I start in telling her about the distributors that we work with and she stops me and says “I’m in Ohio.”  Oh… well then you can’t get our beer.  She then emphatically states that when we arrive in Ohio she will do whatever she can to make sure we succeed!

Sometimes the beer community just blows me away!

Find a COOP and enjoy your weekend!

Republic Gastropub’s One Year Anniversary!

April 8th, 2011

Republic Gastropub has been an excellent supporter of the Craft Beer Industry and we are proud to join them this Sunday, April 10, to celebrate their one year anniversary!  We have the opportunity to work with many restaurants and bars across the state and Republic’s dedication to quality food, service, and beer is second to no one.  So come out and see us, we’ll have our own tent and almost all of our beers will be pouring, including our Territorial Reserve Oak-Aged Imperial Stout and perhaps a beer that you have never seen or tried…..

To partially plagiarize Hunter S. Thompson, “Good beer brings good people together!”  So, Sunday, 12pm, Republic Gastropub, be there of be…… well you get the idea.

Cheers,

Team COOP

Trattoria Il Centro and COOP Beer Dinner!

March 21st, 2011

One of the things that we love doing is featuring our beer with gourmet food.  Beer should no longer be thought of as your “lake” drink, although it is good for that too.  We believe that beer is every bit the intricate beverage that wine is and thus goes great with food.  To this point, we are excited to get the opportunity, from time to time, to partner with local restaurants and offer a Beer Dinner.  A Beer Dinner, in short, is an event where a local restaurant prepares a multi course meal, usually using different beers in the recipes, and then the food is served with a thoughtfully paired glass of beer.  Tonight, we are expecially excited about the meal that Trattoria Il Centro, in downtown OKC, is preparing to pair with our beers.  The menu is as follows:

Classic Cheddar Cheese Soup with a Cheesey Herbed Cruton & Fried Shallots
    Native Amber

Chicken Pot Pie “Tratt” Style
    Horny Toad Cerveza

Chocolate Glazed Pound Cake with Espresso Creme An Glaise and Coffee infused Porter Affagato (a shot of beer poured over gelato)
    Coffee infused Gran Sport Porter

All of this gloriousness starts at 6:30pm, and luckily for you there are still seats left. Just call (405)601-5858 for more information or to reserve your seat!

Come out and join us for one of the truely unique events that is happening in OKC tonight!

Cheers,

Team COOP
